N Power no bill for 9 months

Hi,
I have my gas and electricity supplied through N Power. There has been lots going on this year and it has only just dawned on me that I have not received a bill from them since December last year! I have looked on my account online and it says a bill is due out in Noveember. My query is that if they bill me in November and they have increased their prices surely they are goin g to be billing me an unfair amount, as had I had bills every three months as I am supposed to they would have been at the cheaper rate? Can they do this?

The short answer is yes. They only need send a bill/statement once a year.

You need to read the meter and provide readings when the tariffs change to get a totally accurate bill.

What I've seen is they gestimate how many units used before the price rise and how many after - you have no way of knowing if they are right or wrong - there may have been a few price increases in the year but you will not have a higher unit price for all the units used.

I too have not had a bill and my tariff says I get one monthly. I wrote a month back and am still awaiting to hear why?

I have been paying by card but no bills. I 'll update if they ever explain why!

A lot of them are providing on-line bills especially if you've signed up with them on the internet. Some firms even charge for a paper bill. You have to log-in to check your bill. Some do send you an e-mail if one is due but they frequently get lost in the junk mail folder if you haven't checked it.

Why are they going to be billing you an unfair amount?

I do know that nPower has had many IT related issues that have caused bills not to be issued.
