Question for "End Date" Compers

I've posted a competition which ends
Wednesday 16 October 2103 12:00 noon (GMT)
What date should I put so "End Date" Compers don't miss out ?
I've put 16/10 but I'm worried this would mean afternoon entries wouldn't count.
Should I have put 15/10 to make sure nobody misses out ?

I would post it as:
E: 15/10
Just my view & not definitive.0 -

if I was checking through comps & saw
E: 15/10 & it was the 16th I was checking comps
i'd think i'd missed the comp & it may have gone to GO if it says 15th so then if anyone's a day late as it says 15th they'll miss it because it ends 16th
unless they go to GO or open it if it's still on live board but don't think I would open the link if it said 15th & I was on 16th

I would put it as 16/10, just in case it gets moved to GO too promptly and people end up missing it that way instead.
I might post it as 15/10 if it ended really early in the morning, like 7am or something.0 -
I'd prefer it to say 16/10.
The only time I'd want it say 15/10 is when the comp ends at midnight on 15/10 (in the past people have put these as 16/10, so there was no chance, no matter how early you were).
But, some comps end prematurely early anyway, so there's always a few you tend to miss as an end date comper anyway. C'est la vie.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

This is exactly what I was trying to say the other week Fire**fly.
I would post the 16th also.
Unless people have a crystal ball how do you know that there will be more people end comping on the 15th than the 16th
If people can't comp on the 15th but can comp on the 16th but the comp has been listed with the end date 15th they would not click on it as it's ended as far as they know, jet they have until noon on the 16th when they could of entered it
That's why I never mess around with end dates go with what the comp say'sThis Post Has Been Sponsored ByChocolate0 -
I'd put 16/10 but add the finish time, either in the title or at the top of the post.
I can sometimes do that days end date comps in the morning, but sometimes it's early evening, so if there's a definite closure time it helps.0 -
As an "end date comper" - I tend to do the comps ending the following day - so today I will be doing the ones ending 12/10 - I would prefer to be the later date.
And, as others have said, if it finishes at a specific time, just add into titleThanks to all posters :A0 -
I would personally put the 15/10 as if end date compers are behind and entering comps on the day they finish they will probably miss it.
For example, I am currently behind so tonight will be finishing the comps E:11/10. There will probably be some comps that I click on that will have finished earlier today so I won't be able to enter them, but if they were posted E:10/10 I would have got my entry in on time when I did the 10/10 yesterday.
It is really personal choice, but with the way I am currently comping I would miss more comps by them being posted with an end date on which they expire, than with an end date earlier than they expire.
Either way, thank you for posting the comp x£630/ £20140 -
Doesn't make any difference to me but 16/10 or 16/10 (noon) would be accurate and if you start moving dates where do you stop, if someone is two days behind they will still miss it.
(if someone is behind they cannot enter any extra because the date has been brought forward, if they could enter more then they could have caught up anyway so the date would not need moving either way)0 -
Personally, I assume that if a time isn't specificed in the title that the competition ends at 23.59 so I find it really helpful, if that's not the case, that noon or 4pm or whatever is mentioned.
I would suggest then, go for 16/10 but put the end time in the title.
P.S. I'm ALWAYS behind, despite by best intentions so I'm constantly entering comps on their end date.0
