I prefer to have the date as the last full day, so I would put the 15th.

I would be ok with either 15/10 or 16/10 [noon]. If there's just a date and no time in the title, I assume the comp to finish at 23.59.

^ that for me too, I am constantly behind, but sometimes I try and have a look at the next day before I go to bed to see if there are any finishing early in the day. If is has noon in the title at least there is some warning.

The main ones I would like to see have the previous day's date are the ITV ones that finish at 7am or ones that always finish earlier than the date stated in the T&C's.

People still have to find the same amount of time to enter if they are constantly "behind" or enter as they are added so making up end dates should make no difference to that, if you haven't got the time you haven't got the time.

If people cannot keep up with them as they are added they cannot keep up with them at the other end of the board either.
To deal with that effectively they need to allow more time and/or enter fewer competitions and/or enter more efficiently.
Simplest thing if people cannot get to entering at least 2 days before the closing date is just to ignore the old ones and start entering for today example those ending 14/10, if they cannot then keep at least the 2 day margin they have to change something.

(if a time is stated I add it to the title)

^ I think most end date compers know that - in an ideal world we would all be up to date... and it's sort of stating the obvious that we would comp as efficiently/effectively as possible given the more limited time spent on it.

but at the end of the day, if the board is correct ie showing a time if finishing before midnight, where possible, then we can manage our own limited comping time as efficiently as possible, missing as little as possible. I consistently see the same comps ending earlier than the stated date - but I presume the ones posting those comps wouldn't realise unless someone says.

Keeping up to date as they are added means being on here virtually full time in the day during the week especially - skimming through end dates for decent comps can just take an hour or two in the evening.

Saying that, for those who do have/give up their time to post comps, I wouldn't expect them to go trawling through the minor t&c's to find exact end times if it's not obvious from the text they are copying/pasting.

I would have thought the time it takes to skim through them as they are added - (Not the second they are posted simply the ones added between visits) - should take no more time than skimming through end dates and might give a slightly more even loading as there will not be quite the same peaks for those ending on a Friday or end of the month or worst of all a Friday month end.

Each to their own, people should do whatever works best/is most enjoyable for them.

Friday/especially month end is dire, granted, gave me a shock my first one after switching to end date comping :rotfl:

I found I entered far more when doing them as they were posted, mostly though for small things like books and dvd's which I have to mostly miss out when end date comping. It's a lot easier to be selective when end date comping.
