My edf fixed tariff is coming to an end at the end of March. I am just wondering what other people are doing. I was thinking whether I should fixed until 2017 before the price soars again now or wait till the tariffs end. Thanks

I used the Moneysaving Expert Comparison site.

In my case I was better off fixing with same supplier until March 2015.

A similar thread from last month. My opinion hasn't changed.

You fixed to take advantage of the lower price at the end of the tariff, so if you switch too early you lose the reason for which you switched in the first place.

If you do this every time the price increases, you are always paying a premium when you first switch and then losing the lower fixed price at the end by switching too early.

Why pay a massive premium right through this winter? It's a gamble otherwise, only you can decide if you want to pay the premium to insure against it.

    Agree with liam and macman
Just had a quick look and it'd cost an extra £201 per year if I switch from March 2014 to the fixed 2017 . . and with the heavy usage time almost upon us :snow_grin * think I'll stick with what I've got for now.

    *couldn't find a snowman with a sad face :(
