Switching from SSE before the free month

We got our notice about SSE's price hike this morning, and are straight away looking to switch. The only thing is, SSE give you a free month in December, and we are thinking it would be daft to switch before then. Are we doing the right thing (waiting till after December) ?

What are you talking about? Since when do SSE give you free energy for an entire month?

Atlantic, now taken over by SSE, used to give a 13th month free after 12 months. If the OP is on that tariff it's probably best to time the switch for the end of the free month.
  • Thanks apt, it was Atlantic. They take the DDs in December, but then give you them back as a "thank-you". Like you say, I'll time it to suit.
