Why is it that shops can increase the price of goods just because the item is selling? Last week i was considering buying a hdd recorder from a top high street store priced at £250 (10 in stock) but I didnt want to pay this so I asked if there were any "deals" available but got a flat "NO". I left the store empty handed. Today i checked the prices again & its now £300 (1in Stock). Can they legally do this? Surely theyre just loosing custom - they have mine.

    Wind up surely?

Well as they have sold at least 9 in the last week, I think you've answered this question yourself! They have not had an issue selling them.

ah ha ha ha ha you've made my day!!!

Why would they NOT sell for more money if htey can get ti, if say they had increased those 10 to £300 straight after you left that's an extra £450 revenue made already!!!

Can a shop legally put up prices?

How would inflation work if they couldn't?
