I have scanned photos before and haven't had any problems until now. I tried to scan some old photos 2"x2" at a high resolution 9600 and 4800 so that I could get them enlarged without losing clarity. This time the scan goes OK and I change the resolution and scan again. I then try to access the scanned image on HP Image Zone and I get the shape of the scan but no image. No I haven't done it upside down but thats what it looks like. Any ideas anyone.

have you tried just scanning in some black text to see if that works OK? If text scans OK try a few different settings, you may have adjusted the settings of contrast / brightness too far and it is washing out the picture.Signature No Longer acceptable -

I will look at that fatnbald but I don't think I changed the contrast/brightness. I did try to sharpen it up as old picture and not very good. Would that have done it.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0

It is possible, on my cheapo crappy scanner a small adjustment in some of the settings makes a big difference to the end result. Try resetting to default and see how you get on.Signature No Longer acceptable -

I went into Jessops to day to see how much they woud charge to scan my photos but seems as if I would have to do it myself using their equipment and still pay over £1 per print. Was told the trouble I am having is because I am trying to scan at too high a resolution for the equipment I have at home. So what I am planning to do is to scan the larger ones at home and at a more normal resolution as they only need to be copied not enlarged much. The older and smaller ones I will do in the shop. Thanks for all the suggestions and help. I am really !!!!!! at techie stuff.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0
