Like I said i was trying to give the full story so people understood. Yes i do blame my housemate/friend to some degree as we had an agreement and i wouldnt have expected my friend to drop me in it (more fool me) but i am fully aware that I took out the contract so its me to blame. I wasnt asking for a character assasination i was asking for advice. Plus im new to this so dont really understand it so was putting as much info as possible!Gordon_Hose wrote: »If it's not relevant then you shouldn't have mentioned it. The way your OP is written is that you're trying to shift the blame onto your housemate. Where that may be the case from your point of view, it wouldn't be from Sky's point of view.
They don't but if they pass the debt onto a DCA then chances are it'll get recorded.
There's plenty who will say nothing will happen, but it clearly states in Sky's Ts&Cs that they can report account activity to CRA's.
If one values their credit file it's not a chance I would take.0 -
I dont actually know. I just assumed they would as they credit check you to take out the service? x

I didn't think they did report the the credit reference agencies.
I remember having a conversation with my friend about it a few months ago who happens to work for sky.
The best option then would be to play safe and offer them an affordable payment arrangement just in case they then pass the account on to a DCA.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Character assassination is a bit of an overreaction! I can't see anywhere that anyone has cast doubt on your character.
The advice/info you got was spot on.0 -
You could of course get copies of your credit files now to see if the missed payments are marked on any of them.
How long left on the contract, can you buy out of it now?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi op, ok let's clear this one up for you,
There is no credit check when taking out sky.
They do id and fraud checks to make sure you have not taken out sky before and left a bill
Sky do not report to credit agency's !!!
If your account defaults and goes to a debt collector then the company can default your credit file.
But right now you are fine and your credit file in tact
DO NOT LET IT DEFULT0
