How do I find what is for sale in my area?

Hi,
I would like to find any items (nothing specific) that may be for sale in my area but not sure how to. I may be able to negotiate postage costs if I can pick up!

I know how to look for an item via postcode (through advanced search) but if I don't know what the item is, how do I look?? Any ideas??

Thanks for your help.

Serendipity.

Hi, you can customise the basic search engine to show lots of different things and some of these are distance and region.

I use it when looking for furniture and also sometimes to avoid trawling through hundreds of Hong Kong listings.

It can be accessed by the "Customise" button on the right hand side of the screen, just to the side of the dropdown arrow box that says "ending soonest" by default.

Click it and you will have two boxes that you can move things to and from.

Move the distance and/or region button over to the right and click "Apply changes".

Now you can search by distance, region, nearest and furthest, from the dropdown arrow box I previously mentioned, hope this helps you!

Its been very useful for me :)

There is a link in this thread - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=468359 - to a site that will find items marked as collection only which seems to net buyers some really cheap items! https://www.powersellersforum.com/localbargains I've seen some crackin' deals on it myself, and it seems more accurate than just searching by postcode.

I have one of eBay's biggest sellers very near me, so when just search directly on eBay by postcode it lists around 20,000 items. :(
