    I am usually lurking around the boards and commenting on other posts anyway and just happened to come across this post. Good service is far more than just making the sale, and at the end of the day we just want people to have a good holiday.

  • Guys, I just wanted to post an update on my situation...
    Problem solved
    Major thanks to Emma - she really helped out

    We have a nice replacement hotel and everything booked and ready to go
    On The Beach seemed to be slow at processing the details and Emma was a hero for helping move things much faster.

    Aside:

    - I had actually contacted the original hotel 3/4 day prior asking if they were OK for a 5 people booking
    - They replied saying that it was fine (no mention of closing for the whole season 5 days later)
    - I spoke to someone else by email in Spain in the same area, they told me that hotels *just* close up business when they see visitor numbers dropping. Not sure if this is a general practice or anything
    - I'm assuming that this is what happened and for that part maybe On The Beach weren't to blame - the first they knew of the closure of the hotel was when I told them about it
