Utility Warehouse

I have been recommended to change over to Utility Warehouse when I move into my first home. Knowing nothing about gas, electricity etc and very different responses online when doing a search I was wondering if there was anybody on here that use them that could give me honest negative & positive views? Thanks!:T

You will only get very different views on the subject...either very positive or very negative. There is a thread dedicated to those opinions and new threads are not supposed to be created to discuss UW. Have a look and ask your questions there.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Seventh largest supplier I think in the energy market. Previous landlord had them for Electric. Personally had no issues and liked the monthly read and billing procedure. However, they have distributors who are quite over enthusiastic on some points and give UW a bad name.0

You'll mostly only see negative reviews because people who are happy with their suppliers don't usually praise or comment.
It's mainly those who have a problem who want to air it and tell everyone how bad their supplier is. Reading some of the criticisms do lead you to believe that a fair few of the perceived problems are self inflicted by not monitoring bills & checking meter readings
That's not to say that some people don't have some really serious aggro but it's a lot fewer than the forums would lead you to suspect.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Agreed. If you lived your life by only buying services that get a good rating on online review sites/forums you would probably be living in a cave by now.
Certainly most of the critics of this company on the UW dedicated thread on these forums have never actually been UW customers. Go figure. 0 -
I speak to them regular, nice bunch are a very small company operating now under their own license but energy is bought via a very big supplier in the top 6Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

A lot of people recommend Utility Warehouse. In fact I used them a long time ago through friend recommendation. It was something that was only advertised via the post office or something. They used to have competitive rates. However, if you take your real world usage today and put it into their website as well as other websites like uswitch, you'll find today that they're quite expensive. Possibly they're okayish if you buy all their services like mobile, but they're not cheap.0
