Bed I bought from dreams is faulty after 1 year

Options
I bought a leather bed from dreams a year past in April, I have noticed that the bottom of the bed frame feels that the wood under the leather has broken in one part, I phoned dreams and the woman was rude, and said there was nothing she could do as it was over a year old and that I should have taken out the 10 year insurance, the bed cost me £500 and as u can imagine I am not happy, she told me to pay for an independent assessor and send them the report and they would look at the report but it doesn't mean they will do anything I am so angry

Any advice would be appreciated as I feel the bed is faulty and not fit for the purpose it was sold for

they are right after 6 months you will need an independent report to prove it was inherently faulty, if this is found to be inherently faulty then the retailer can repair/replace or refund taking into account usage and also they have to refund you the cost of the report.

Well it is 18 months old for a start not a year. So you will have to get an independent report. As it is after 6 months.

That said anything they do will be purely good will. As they are owned by different companies. The old owners went into administration, those are the people you have the SOGA rights with, not the new company.

If you paid by credit card or finance the providing company is also liable if dreams won't do anything. However you will still need that independent report done or nobody has to do anything for you.
