switching from swalec but dont know if i can?
Hi guys - joined the energy saving club a few months back and they text me saying i could save by switching but before i spend hours on phone trying to get through to swalec i think i have an outstanding balance as i was in arrears as ex was still living at home and out of work so i cancelled a few direct debits - ive now reinstated them but if i owe them anything does that mean i cant switch - i cant even remember if im locked in on a lower rate anyway - can i phone them to see if theyl offer me a better rate or a fixed one? panicing after seeing email about increases as i pay £110 a month dual fuel anyway.

They are likely to block an application to switch to another supplier if you have an existing debt. You are, however, free to switch to a different tariff of theirs.
You are as well contacting them to see what other tariffs are available - you also want to work out the split of your £110 payment - how much of that is your ongoing useage and how much is going to arrears. You may want to use a comparison site first to see what prices SWALEC's other tariffs are (or use SWALEC's own site for a quote).0
