Easy get a new meter, then you wont have to
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

How will a new gas meter (reading in cu m) enable the OP to instantly know the price of a unit of gas billed in kWh?

  • I despair sometimes, I really do. This just underlines the need for personal finance education for people to understand that life, unfortunately, is not always 'simple' and the need to fundamentally understand bills etc.

OP, firstly you don't need to rant over the phone, I used to be on the other not too long ago and it's not fun having that conversation when the person on the other end simply demands things that aren't physically possible.

Secondly, you're asking the wrong question. Instead of 'telling' them I want to be billed in meter units rather than kWh is not right. Instead ask, why do I have conversion calculation and how does it work?

That why you might learn why it's necessary to do it that way.
