EDF Price Freeze 2017 vs Npower Price Freeze 2017?

Hi All,

I'm currently with Npower but am looking to switch due to various issues over the past few months with Npower.

I've just been looking at EDF's website and notice they have a 2017 price freeze, which I just had a quote for and it said it would save me £12 per annum of what I am spending now. I then went to Npower and noticed their 2017 price freeze and then went ahead and quoted theirs, which states I would save far more than now. I don't get it?

Anyone know which one I should go for?

I am based in Leeds.

Thanks in advance.

Why don't you compare their standing charge & unit rates and then take into account any discounts that you might be getting. Are you actually inputting kw or just what you are currently paying
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers
  • Yes compare the standing charges and unit costs like matelodave said to do.

I recently signed up to the EDF deal, I don't recall seeing nPower in the comparison I did on the old net.

If you are inputting monthly DD and not annual kWh usage, then you won't get accurate results.

For me they are within 3% of each other, +£307(+23%) and +£336(+26%) so something is not right with your input. Use one of the comparison sites for the quote using annual kWh.

I am shocked that there are still people out there that can find a long term fix that is cheaper than they are currently paying
  • Thanks for responses. il try using kwh, instead of payments per quarter.

    Thanks again.
