Help pls - complaint re dealership - who to?
Please could anyone advise:
Saturday telephoned dealer after viewing car on web £6995 for 5 door I20 Hyundai.
Not in region, come in pay £100 deposit have it here for Monday to view.
An hour later I go in to dealership, that car not available, it is actually only a 3 door.
But they do have another 5 door for £7295.
Complete paperwork, pay £200 deposit. Receive documentation, with XXX Registration. June 2012.
Monday no tele call - I call them - no car.
Tuesday no call - I call them - not sure where it is.
Tuesday - voicemail - not here until Thursday.
Thursday - I ring - Yes it's here.
Go to view - no its not the same car, different car, different reg, same price. YYY reg, Mar 2012.
Car is fine- not exactly the same but close, get papers, notice they are all dated Tuesday the 8th.
When they didn't know where the original ordered car is.
Agree to take car and collect at noon - tomorrow.
Get home, check web, XXX car is still on web but for £6995, not £7295.
Make an enquiry to dealer 100 miles away - sorry car now gone.
An hour later - telephone call from my local dealer "ARE YOU STILL COMNG FOR CAR TOMORROW"
I was quite taken aback and obviously I know as I did not lie to dealer 100 miles away.they have entered me on a system.
I explain why I checked - and that yes I am coming for car tomorrow - but wanted facts to point out about the whole episode.
The call left me very upset, after all and as I pointed out, I did not ring the local dealer, I did not say I no longer wanted the car, I did not complain. His question - what can we do to sort this out?
I wasn't aware there was anything to sort out other than the poor handling of my purchase.
The actual purchase was not in question.
I have spoken with the salesman, I have now spoken to the Sales Manager - where do I go from here?
I think at the very least I should have received a call saying they could not get XXX car but they have another to view.
I thought an advertised price was the actual price you paid, but apparently not. The garage it comes into can add to that amount.
I am not dreading going to collect the car tomorrow.

I really hope it's a high spec one as you can buy a base i20 for £200 more brand new.
