Wanting my 18yr old DD to be on my social housing

I am in social housing. My name is the lone name on the rent card ( do they still call it this) I live here with my DD who is 18. She is still at college and then on to uni. Can I have her name on there with me?
The reason for this being I am. Almost 64 and I would just feel it safer for her to still have a home if anything were to happen to me. Not that intend going anytime soon you understand lol.
Would appreciate any thoughts on this. Thank you.

why ?
your daughter could get married in a few years time and move away from home anyway,
she might decide to go live with friends, in another part of the country
if she goes on the tenancy agreement it might effect any benefits you get in the future ,
you would have nothing to gain from putting her on the tenancy unless you have undisclosed motives in mind
I am in no way implying you have but many do0 -
No that is the only reason. I,m a worrier that's all. I had her late in life and my other children are in there 40,s. Sorry if I gave you the idea I was being devious. Nothing was further from my mind. Also I,m unsure how I could have any other motive.
But thanks for your advice.0 -
Yes you can.An opinion is just that..... An opinion0

Would it help with the bedroom tax?0

Just in case you were wondering. 'Some' people try and transfer a social housing property to a child and then assume they can take it over when they pop off!
My brother lives in a one bed ex council flat in Central London. Half are still council properties. The 65 year old women next door who has never worked and is residing in a 3 bed flat being paid for by housing benefit was trying to get my brother to help her get the flat transferred to her son's name as after all it was 'hers'.
Not its not.....
He politely declined and said he didnt know enough about what could and couldnt be done0 -

Lots of Daily Mail key words in that one, please keep your bigotry to yourself in future.0 -
Is your daughter planning on going away to uni.
I'm just wondering if she is if that might complicate matters?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I,m sorry if I,ve offended anyone. I really was only thinking about my daughter welfare. We only have a tiny 2 bed roomed bungalow and I did own my own home till some years ago. Long story lost everything after a messy divorce.
I had my daughter late in life, her step brothers are in there 40,s do I,m petrified of leaving her alone. My health hasn't been so good of late. I think I,m getting paranoid.
I truly was not thinking of deceiving anyone there is nothing further from my mind. Though reading the replies I understand how people could think this. Please forgive me if I,ve touched nerves .
I really appreciate people's input and taking the time to answer.
Please believe me it was just a question.0 -

Yes she,s going to uni but it will be within travelling distance. I think I,ll not worry about doing anything now. She,s a very bright and sensible young lady and I,m confident she,ll make her own way in life.0 -

Not that I should explain myself to you but I have never ever claimed JSA or any other benefits in my life. I have worked from the age of 15 until I was 60. I now get pension which I believe we are all entitled to. Your picture truthfully should not even deserve an answer.
I agree and have already reported it. I thought the earlier comment (Maisie) was valid as it based on her experiences and not designed purely to be offensive.0
