My Dell XPS 630i, turned itself off, and now will not turn back on.
There seems to be power to the motherboard, as the light on the mb is on, and also the LAN light
had the case off, all connections seems fine, have taken the ram out and put back in , no difference,
any help much appreciated , thank you

PSU failing possibly? Enough power to start the boot, but not enough to POST.

Yes, I have something similar. At that price you can hardly go wrong. If it's not the PSU, then you have a useful tool.
The PSU may just have failed on one rail, enough power to light the LED's but not enough to start the boot sequence.
Alternatively swap in a spare known working PSU and retest. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
