Npower 'discount' changes

Received a letter today saying Npower are 'fiddling around' with their discounts

In the letter it states the standing charge for electricity is ON AVERAGE increasing from £36 to £40

However when I look at my own specific tariff change it states the standing charge is changing from 10.5p/day to 0p/day (Go Save tariff for the North West of England)

is this a mistake or has anybody had the same letter ?

See my other thread mentioning 'energy helpline'.

They are including the discount in the standing charge - add £50 per year to find out your actual standing charge. It is complete nonsense the lack of clarity - £0, £36, £65, £85, £133, £180 from one tariff to the other - well done, Ofcom, your simplification works wonderfully in practice.

As I mention in that thread it isn't just npower performing this obfuscation - comparison sites are also not immediately transparent.
