I'm a Teaching Assistant. I used to work 30 hours a week, now I do 16 (Reduced due to my MS, couldn't manage it). Our hours are over 46 or 47 weeks a year(Depending if you've done 5 years or more), but we get paid every month, due to the council taking our salary and splitting it into 12.
Check if you will be paid for 12 months or not, if you are, just tell them how many hours a week you work.

This was always a tricky one when I worked there.

It all depends on your contract. If you are contracted over 12 months, it doesn't matter that you aren't working in holidays, you're still counted as being in continuous employment.

However if your contract says that you're employed only for a term, and you get a new contract each term, then technically you're unemployed for that period and unable to claim WTC for that period.
