Looks like EDF are doing a similar exercise they did before as their current fixed price tariffs are ending. From their website...
If you're on Blue + Price Promise September 2013 or Fixed Price 2013 you should use our dedicated website to choose your next product. By using this link you can ensure that you continue to take advantage of the lower price you're on now, right up until the last day of your current tariff, and then seamlessly switch onto the new tariff you choose on 1st October.

I'm on a fixed till 2014 so won't be switching now as I've got another winter at currently unbeatable rates. Will doubtless get hit by an even bigger increase when I do switch, but will keep an eye open for a similar offer coming up next year. I used the same sort of offer when my last fixed tariff with them ended, and it did go through as they said.
They haven't messed with my DD amount too much this year either and I give them monthly readings now, where I had stopped previously due to the headaches their unnecessary adjustments gave me.

So, maybe they are learning that it is worth hanging on to existing customers... :)

Nothing to stop you fixing before your 2014 one ends - have a look at their 2015 offering - worked out about the same cost for me.

(June 2014 fix switched to March 2015)
Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?

Of course not, but it's a question of anticipating the price increases to establish if the extra cost in switching now before winter would be worth it. I've decided to enjoy what is now a low rate for the winter - it is after all why I went for the fixed tariff in the first place.
