Google is giving away 1,000 brand new HP Chromebook 11s. The main concept around the giveaway is that you nominate someone to win. After choosing from one of the categories, you can notify someone of their nomination via Google+, Facebook, Twitter, or email. Once the nomination is sent, nominees upload a photo that fits the selected category. If you want to win a Chromebook without being nominated, Google allows you to nominate yourself. The giveaway ends on October 16th at 9 a.m. ET and you may enter as much as you want. Try this page, when you click one of the nomination options you should then see the social network options, tw ect, and below that the link to nominate yourself.

? sorry but I don't fully understand - I nominated someone else, but it doesn't ask to upload photo - the option does come up if I opt for myself - is this right?

also it says 744 left - does that mean they are giving them out over this comp time not at the end?

How do you win though? How do they choose the winners? I don't get this...

Also, if i nominate someone else, does that class as an entry for me? Or only if in nominate myself?

If you nominate someone else, they are invited to upload an image.
The entry is given a score by judges and if it's good enough the nominated person wins a chromebook.
Enter as many times as you want.

Each entry will be judged by a panel of experts who are employees of Sponsor (“Judges”). Judging will occur on an ongoing basis during the Contest period and will be completed no later than November 1, 2013, the Judges will evaluate the images in each category based on the following criteria:
Fit: How well the person nominated matches the category they’ve been nominated for.
Creativity: How unique and interesting the entry is.
For-Everyone-ness: How well does the entry embody the idea that Chromebook is for everyone?

Judges will evaluate and attribute a score to each image made up of scores based upon the above-listed criteria. The top thirty (33) entries per category that receive the highest overall scores will be selected as the potential (“Finalists.”)

In the event of a tie, the image that received the higher score from the Judges in the category of (“For Everyone-ness”) will be selected as one of the potential Finalists. In the event a potential Finalist is disqualified for any reason, the image that received the next highest total score will be chosen as the potential Finalist.
At the end of each night during the Contest Period, around 11:59 p.m. (ET), all of the current entries will be judged. Each night Sponsor will select approximately 3-4 entries per category to be potential Finalists. The potential Finalists will be selected and notified by email, at Sponsor’s discretion. If a potential Finalist does not respond to the notification attempt within 10 days from the first notification attempt, then such potential Finalist will be disqualified and an alternate potential Finalist will be selected from among all eligible entries received based on the judging criteria described herein. Except where prohibited by law, each potential Finalist may be required to sign and return a Declaration of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release and provide any additional information that may be required by Sponsor. If required, potential Finalists must return all such required documents within 10 days following attempted notification or such potential Finalist will be deemed to have forfeited the prize and another potential Finalist will be selected based on the judging criteria described herein.

I'm a little confused still. It says in the above t&c's that the entries are judges each night. Does that mean entries submitted that day or do entries carry over?

In other words, if you enter a pictures, will that be considered every day of the comp, or would you constantly have to enter the picture daily? (if that makes sense)

I've no idea what the 'rosette' means.

Landscape format works best for uploading your photo.

I assumed the rosette marked a winner?

Though if they do, i'm not convinced this is judged fairly...
