Yes, they're there. (Well, I assume they are this year's.)

(Edit: and it was in an independent greengrocer not a supermarket.)

not sure if i have seen those. do you have a pic? thanks

You probably haven't seen them as you are in the USA and russets are a British variety.

Nada666 Thanks. I know Sainsbury has sold them before, but they're not in yet. Might pop along to a little town nearby that has a good greengrocer. I had a look when I went to the farmer's market in Cardiff on Sunday, but there weren't any there.

I don't eat apples very often, but I do love a russet. :)

They've been in local farm shops in Kent for a few weeks. Many supermarkets seem never to heave heard of English apples, however!

Try Waitrose, they are more likely than any other main stream retailer.
I have a tree in my garden that has produced over 50 decent apples this year. Last year was less than 15, so a bumper crop ! :)

I planted three this year. Russet, Braeburn & Bramley (one apple this year) so will hopefully have a goodly supply in a couple of years or so. Also planted a patio tub one out the back that had an apple on it. It was a freebie and has no label. Tasty though!
