  • According the the OP's other thread she owns a property that s rented out. Would she still be able to get housing Benefit?

    If the capital value (valuation of property minus mortgage minus 10%) is more than 16k then no.

    Rental income is taken into account minus the mortgage payments and expenses like insurance, gas safety certificates, electrical testing etc - whatever is left over is treated as income.
    These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.
