Today I visited the Queen's Theatre in London (Shaftesbury Avenue) to see Les Miserables. The visit and trip from up North was planned as it was my friend's birthday and I wanted to treat her. My friend is visually impaired and I can only give thumbs up and thanks to the very helpful theatre staff for there kindness.
I only booked tickets last week for access seats, which meant no steps etc. From booking the tickets we spoke to a very helpful man on the phone who explained about the location of the seats and that someone would escort us.
We were met at the main entrance today, and taken through a side door and shown to our seats. The staff even came to check on us during the interval and at the end of the show they accompanied us back to the door, but before that a kind employee waited with my friend whilst I looked at the theatre shop!
All in all an amazing day and made even better because of the kindness from all the theatre staff!
Also want to offer praise to the mobility team at Euston Train Station who work for National Rail as they arranged to drive us to the train, thus avoiding the very long walk! I did not know this service was available and despite not booking 24 hours in advance they still provided us with the service!
