Printer problems help needed please

I have an HP C4180 all in one printer.I used my printer last night with no problems ,now tonight couldn`t print anything.I uninstalled to reinstall with the cd but couldn`t find the cd.I went to HP site and was advised to download driver which i did.I then had a message to say it didn`t support XP which it reckoned I was operating.My pc is Vista not XP.
I am now stuck.I think maybe I need a new printer but is there anything I can try ? Any help would be appreciated.:mad:

Yes that`s where i downloaded it from,Tried a second time,took ages.It downloaded then when i tried to run it i had message saying this file is corrupt.

So it's corrupting during the long download possibly. Can you download it elsewhere on a faster connection, then transfer via a flash drive?

Might also be worth trying the basic driver at 25% of the size

Thanks for the help but nothing works,although the copier part still works.Time to buy another,some good cheap deals about anyway.

Don't be daft, you simply need to install a driver that isn't corrupt!

Well can`t believe it ,gave up on my printer.Picked up a Canon PIXMA MP 280 all in one .Drivers downloaded fine and printed off documents .Now I`ve tried printing photo but although it goes through the motions the photo paper is coming out blank.I am baffled:mad:. Help !!!!!!!
