Section 75 question

When making a claim under Section 75, do I have to exhaust all options directly with the retailer, or can I go straight to using Martin's Section 75 template letter and make it the credit card company's problem?
My initial conversation with the retailer suggested that he won't make it easy for me to get any money back.
Thanks

You can go straight, but this doesn't mean that that the CC company will accept the claim and will make it easy for you.
They are just jointly reliable with the retailer, but don't have to refund the money automatically only because you claim it.
IMO it's reasonable to exhaust the options with the retailer first.0
