Installing Latest Windows Updates

Hi There,

Hope someone can help me with this, had 18 updates today
and picked out 5 to update as prefer to do a few at a time.

The 5 updates were all Net.frameworks, they have got stuck
on "Installing updates" at 10%

Been like this with no movement for last 4 hours, have tried to
stop installation but it won't stop.
could someone please let me know what to do
many thanks

I'd suggest a forced reboot and try again.

    Many Thanks Sol

Have now rebooted after force shut down and all 18 downloads are back and ready to re download.

It had frozen at Networks frame 4 security update (had 2 of these) so will now install all the other updates apart from these 2, and maybe try the other 2 at another time.

in case anyone's wondering which 2 it is the following KB numbers
    KB 2861188
    KB 2858302

    Many thanks again

May I suggest you simply install the lot in one hit. It has worked flawlessly on our 5 PCs today. Sometimes seemingly unrelated updates are actually dependant on one another being loaded at the same time.

The install of an update hangs?

Go into task manager and stop spoolsv.exe

    Task manager - Processes - spoolsv.exe

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-onenote/kb2760600-not-installing/811842f5-6a58-40e1-a107-7303ddc4dcdf

All I had to do to fix this was run Task Manager, click the "Show processes from all users" icon, and end the "spoolsv.exe" process. Have Windows Update running so you can install the update as soon as you close the "spoolsv.exe", because this service will automatically restart itself in a short time.

Well that windows fix didn't run at all just had not responding on it and now cannot get it off my screen without pulling the plug.

Seem to have a few problems lately with freezing on downloads.

Firefox corrupt and unable to open, it says "Could not load XPCOM."
So Uninstalled it, but now can't download it, laptop just freezes

When bring up Task Manager it's stuck in processes and have no red button to close it, so now close it by right click bottom task bar,
cannot get it back to show Application/ Processes/ Performance etc.

I have ran Avast, Malwarebytes , Superantispyware,CCleaner all clear
opened laptop and cleaned fan, it is running on websites quicker now, but seem to have this problem download anything.
