Switched from EDF - how long for refund?

I recently switched from EDF to M&S Energy. The contract with M&S started on 1st Oct. I have calculated that I am in credit with EDF for over £300, so they will have to refund that to me.

Does anyone know roughly how long I can expect to wait for this to happen? They have not done a final meter reading yet. I know these companies don't exactly fall over themselves to give you cash, but I just wondered how long I should leave it before chasing it up with them.

You should have given the meter reading to your new supplier who will eventually give it to EDF, they will then get round to sending you a final bill when they've agreed the meter reading with M&S - should take about six weeks, then you've got to wait for their payment processing system to get it sorted out so you'll be lucky to get it much before the beginning of December
