currys in the bullring had a 1080p 50" samsung for 1050 in a sale but for a guess only 1yr warranty
if you like say thanks :j0 -
seems good but frankly i would wait for 1080p if i was blowing 1k especialy as you will actually notice it on a screen that big

. What content is available in 1080p?
Really, nothing at this point. Today's high-def broadcasts are done in either 1080i or 720p, and there's little or no chance they'll jump to 1080p any time soon because of bandwidth issues
Comparing a 50-inch 1080p DLP set to a 50-inch 720p DLP set, for example, he says you'll be hard-pressed to notice more detail with 1080i sources, especially from farther than 8 feet away.

Can anybody tell me the difference between the PS50C96HDX abd the PS50C97HDX.
Some retailers sell one, and others the other one. It is not strictly obvious from the Samsung website. Is one better that the other?
EDIT: I see the link on post 3 tells you!0 -

Samsung dont have a 50" 1080p plasma on sale at present your getting confused with the 1080p lcd which is 40"0 -
Dont buy now, wait for 1080p... dont buy a DVD player, wait for Blue-Ray. Technology changes constantly and we could wait forever and never buy if we adopted this approach.
This is a good deal for a decent brand with good specs and good reviews. Many people wont have access to HD broadcast for many years and those that do on Sky have limited choice with broadcasts only up to 1080i.
So if not buying this deal there are two other choices. Either spend a heck of a lot more on a 1080p set now when there is virtually nothing to display on it in that resolution (and few will notice any difference anyway), or wait for 1080p sets to come down in price but by then 1080x,y,z or whatever will be coming along.0
