Married Quarter Increase in Charges 2015???

Afternoon i have heard separate rumours that in 2015 Married Quarter charges will increase by 60% depending on the area you live in? so if you live in a 3 bed house where the rental market says its £750 a month to live in that house you will be charged 60% of that?

Any one know if this is coming in or is it yet another NAAFI buzz?

Regards

They are looking at MQ charges, although I don't think any decision has been made yet. I do believe though it is to bring it more in to Civvy prices, although I think this will be LA rental charges, rather than private rental charges.

They are also looking at increasing LSAP, to allow more people on to the housing ladder.

It was mentioned in the New Employment Model (NEM), however prices will not be as expensive as private renting.

Housing prices have to be standard across the board, so a 3-bedroom Grade 1 within the M25 might cost you £2000 a month, but the same in North Scotland might cost £400 a month.

    Therefore, standby to standby..

I wouldn't object to a rent increase, providing the property is up to a standard reflected by the price. For some areas this is going to mean quarters need a heck of a lot of work....
