    That's good. It sounds like things are getting back on track and he'll soon have his provisional licence back.

    No need for legal expenses or futile appeals, but I'd certainly be changing his driving instructor who obviously never bothered to check his eyesight properly before letting him drive his car. Not only has your son technically been committing an offence by driving all this time with uncorrected defective vision (thankfully wasn't caught or he'd have points on his licence), but the instructor is guilty of aiding and abetting the same. It just takes half a minute to walk somebody to a car plate at a slightly over-estimated distance and check these things out before more severe consequences kick in.
