    I use steel cut (pinhead) oats rather than rolled, but I make a batch for the week and then just reheat it in the microwave. I find adding a little extra milk when reheating gets it back to a nice creamy consistency. It is slightly nicer freshly made, but steel cut take 40 mins so I'm not doing that every morning!

    That's exactly the thing, pinhead oats takes a lot longer to cook, all depends on what type the OP uses. Rolled oats cook very quickly in the microwave.
