npower oct 13 question

hi,

I'm currently on Npower energy online oct13 tarrif. Last month I phoned Npower to change to their Nov 14 tariff once my current tarrif ran out i.e. 1st Nov. which they confirmed

I logged in last week to check and noticed they had changed my tariff to Nov 14 straight away - phoned to ask them to rectify which they said they would but it would take time.

Meanwhile I noticed my anniversary direct debit annual discount which was meant to be added yesterday hasn't came into affect ? Before I phone them a couple of question....

1/ has anyone had experience of when their DD discount comes off i.e. the date they say ?

2/ does anyone know what the discount is ? I can't recall ?

thanks

G

There was a £105 annual discount. BUT if you change from an old tariff with the old annual discount to a new tariff which only carries a month by month taken off the standing charge discount there is no guarantee that they will honour the previous discount (as you have switched to an entirely different system). As [STRIKE]you [/STRIKE]they changed tariff before your anniversary date you will probably have to ask for a manual credit - the computers will not handle it*.

Of course none of this matters as, technically, you requested the change only come in after 1 Nov so you are protected. Trouble is, their computers will not know this and it will take time and a letter or two to resolve the situation. You are entitled to the credit but don't hold your breath whilst waiting.

(* Yes, yes, I know. I laughed at that clause, too.)
  • thanks,

when I called last week they said they'd back date the tariff change to 28 Sept when it was changed and apologised. They did say it would take unto 28days to be effective. I shall wait till that time and chase up the DD discount if it hasn't been applied by then. Also - 105pounds is more than I thought so brilliant !

    cheers

    Hello tryingtobegood

I can see you have made enquiries into your dual fuel discount. I am happy to review this for you and take a closer look. If you could send me an email with your account number on the email address showing on my profile page I'll look into this right away.

    Thanks
