Accused of hitting parked car...advise please

    Not if he believed (even mistakenly) that the husband had caused the damage - would you be able to prove that he didn't? I can't imagine anyone being interested in prosecuting him.

    To believe he would have to have had reason, not just go on a fishing trip. Even if they didn't prosecute he would be dettered from throwing his weight about. though they do tend to be quite strict about data issues and government services.

    He does have reason - he comes back to the car park to find his car damaged. Assuming it was the guy who was parked next to him that day seems like a reasonable deduction to me.
