jafdfjbnjgndg tea got spilt on laptop last week knackering it - call the pru to claim last saturday heard nothing till today when told they will contact their engineers to inspect it and they will contact me sometime next week..............why could they have not done that when I called claim in last week...............I am doing computer exams and everything is on the laptop - cannot afford to replace and having to redo everything on pet teens pc but that does not have enough room for software I need to use....................how long is it going to take !!!!!! they could not answer that.

This does seem to be very bad service.

4 years ago, OH knocked over her drinking chocolate off the edge of the desk onto my PC, router and camera. Needless to say, there was a very loud bang and 1 dead PC. I contacted Pru and had the claim aproved and sorted within 18 hours of the accident! They didn't send anybody out to inspect the damage (I did offer) and took my word for it. The money was in my bank 4 days later (£850).

Ask to speak to somebody higher up the food chain and complain. Also, check your policy as some companies have a timescale mentioned in their sales blurb for sorting a claim.
