John lewis price promise

I bought a sony dcr-sr32e camcorder this morning as a fathers day present for oh. I paid £399 in JL as I wanted it for Sunday so couldn't go through quidco and order online. I've now checked online and amazon are selling the same camera for £309 including delivery! Of course JL website says they only price match other shop prices so is there anything I can do?

All you can try is to ask. Alot of retaliers wont match online prices (Comet wont for one).

Their terms and conditions are very clear - they will only match real highstreet shops that display the price. I've had a pricematch turned down on the premise that the shop wasn't displaying a price.

Thanks. Did ask, no harm in asking, and they won't price match but will refund if I return it. Ordered from amazon with £8 delivery for gauranteed next day, still a saving of £82 and a lesson learned.

JL tend to be quite pricey - but if you can get a price match they are great due to their warranties.

I would have ordered slow from amazon and returned the amazon product to JL that way OH needn't have known. JL are excellent on returns, I've returned a product I got in a promotion elsewhere to John lewis and been refunded cash £150.
