Cheap Hotel in Manchester, 26/10/13

Can anyone advise please. I've tried loads, Travel lodge, Premier Inn, Holiday Inn, Late Rooms, Booking.com. They're either too far out, too expensive or both.
Thanks

    how much is too expensive?

Manchester is not a cheap place for hotels, especially not if there is a match next day, going further out to Oldham/Chadderton/Stockport etc might be a cheaper option, at least for the budget chains mentioned

Many thanks. We are going to the Lowry and will be having a few beers afterwards. Was hoping to get something for £60 for a double. We do Liverpool every year and don't normally pay more than that. We don't often stay in Manchester as it's not that far, but our friends wanted to make a weekend of it.
    Thanks again

Unfortunately for you that Saturday Man United are playing at home, so any hotels around the Lowry / Salford Quays are likely to be booked up or at a premium price .....
