I just went to put an electric card in my meter as running very low. I put the card in and got error 1. So I tried the other card I have left and got the same. I have blown it incase dust, cards don't look damaged etc but still getting the error message. Only have a few hours left of power so not sure what to do or what error 1 means. Was fine when I put a card in 2 days ago.

  • Dont you mean a key ?, all the prepays I see now are key meters. Card meters were withdrawn years ago in my area, although I recently entered a property no one had got into for years and a card meter was still in use...meter bypassed !
  • No it's one of the old fashioned card meters. I live in a building with 4 flats and all got card meters

It wont go off tonight, but call your supplier for an eco sounds like a faulty meter.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

The meter doesn't have any emergency installed as far as I can see.
  • Just called and apparently my letting agent has put the meter in the flats so they have to sort it. But they are closed till 9am and are rubbish sending anyone around!! When my water meter broke I was left with no hot water for 3 days!

No it's not, it's the account holders responsibility, i.e. you, if you are the leaseholder. Unless this is some sort of private metering arrangement?
Same with the water meter-it's between you and the water utility, if you pay the water bills. Nothing to do with your LA.

It sounds like she has a sub meter. Was this originally one property?
