Halifax C/A switching bonus - £200

Anyone else been offered this by phone from a local branch?
Employee suggested its been offered to Halifax customers who have above x amount but no C/A.
Tempting as it is I have quite a number of C/As but all are there for a reason as they are either cracking interest rates or enable me to have other regular savings accounts or savings accounts with the same institutions.
Hence (and especially as I wouldnt want them closing - i.e. would want a 'particial switch). I think this offer is one that I cant take at the moment.

There would be nothing to stop you reapplying for an interest paying current account once you have trousered the £200 by transferring to the Halifax. In the case of the Nationwide flexdirect it would have the additional advantage of restarting the 12 month period for which you receive 5% interest.0

One should always keep a dormant account or three available for such offers (and set up the requisite SOs/DDs as/when/if required).veryintrigued wrote: »Tempting as it is I have quite a number of C/As but all are there for a reason as they are either cracking interest rates or enable me to have other regular savings accounts or savings accounts with the same institutions.
Indeed, one of mine came in useful for the Halifax £100 incentive just last week.
Still have two left if anyone else launches a decent switching incentive.0 -
With more people opening BOS Vantage accounts for savings:
thought it might be worth pointing out:
If you have a BOS current account, they exclude you from many Halifax new customer offers - check the small print.
Might be better to consider TSBThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
