Find 100 things you want to post on eBay @ 99p. Thats what you could do. To list them is free. Someone added it to my challenge thread today cause I am desperate for some pennies to hit my DFD...
Good luck!..;-)“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. With the phone, if you're using it for work is there anything you can claim back in expenses or get a phone supplied by work?
Keeping with the phone theme, have you got any old handsets laying around in drawers? They normally fetch a bit depending on handset and clears out some clutter too.0 -
For reducing going out costs, sign up to film first and look for users on twitter or Facebook that post about bargains and free events in your area.
It's amazing how many cheap/free nights out there are, it's always good to have variety.0 -

One of the best ways I found for reducing spending was to pay for things with cash. For me, it felt more like spending my own money than using plastic - which was either someone elses on the cc, or even if it was on the debit card not quite the same. Obviously I wouldn't use cash for big payments, but buying petrol, or food at the supermarket, i found i spent less because the money was more real, and I could only spend it if it was in my pocket. These days I only use the card to get money out of a cashpoint, or the cc online. Debt free since 2010. Good luck.0

Evening all.
Second day of not spending any money. Walked to and from work so not even used any petrol :T and had all meals from stock.
Work have given me a work phone. Obviously doesn't resolve issue with contract tie in but will help when I'm out of my contract as I get free calls on work phone and I can use it for personal too :j
Thanks for the tips on Facebook and Twitter. I will check those out. Hopefully organise a cheap or free night out next month using one of then.
I have another question. I have £790 ish on my FD CC that I can balance transfer to the card that has the biggest amount on it. Should I do this and cancel FD card? Or should I keep the card to use to transfer a balance later if they offer a deal? Not sure if FD do any real deals once you have the card. Any thoughts?

Been thinking cash is a better option than card. Worried I'll stop off at a coffee shop if I have cash in my purse though. I'll consider this over next few days. At the moment I feel better not carrying cash.I will be debt free on 31st December 2014 :j

It's a scary but manageable amount to clear! You've just got to be a bit mean wherever you can as every penny helps. Crank the heating down and turn off lights to save energy costs. Any subscriptions you can do without until you're in the black? Got a spare room to let for a while? I was amazed at how much my ex spent on coffee! She had a lovely coffee machine in her kitchen but walked 5 minutes to the station and bought a coffee for £2.95 at the station, then another at lunch 5 days a week, - nearly £1500 a year!
You'll get there!0 -

You could also try finding a Facebook selling page instead of ebay. I've never used one myself, but have seen other people on MSE recommending them. If you find an active one, you don't have any selling fees, and the people buying are local, so either they'll pick it up or you can drop it off and avoid postage costs.Mortgage when started: £330,995
