I check mine every day..one, two, three, four..yup, all there, no rims on the deck...
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
  • I regularly give mine a kick, you can't be too careful

Now is the best time to change. If you have 2.5mm or less on the driven wheel tyres (4x4 included) you may not get very far if the snow comes down. 8mm will give you much better traction.

    This.

Annoys the hell out of me that my employer won't allow the tyres to be replaced until they're below 2mm. Means I have to waste diesel doing October burnouts before the snow falls. :D

Who has decided its Tyre Safety Month?

Presumably the same people who also decided it is stop smoking month and stop drinking month.

If they add any more things to "Stoptober" we'll be going after the wombles with Stoptobermory month.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

Surely if it's Stoptober then it should be brake safety month?

In all honesty though, since anyone can declare one of these for any reason, and so many people are now. I've adopted a policy of ignoring all of them. It's something that only worked when there were a few of them covering really serious issues.

I guess there will not be too many discounts on tyres this month. The end of November could be a better month to buy.

October is tyre safety month. Do you know how to check your tyres? Are you aware their is a 1.6mm tread, anything less than this makes your tyres illegal.

    Here is more advice http://www.uccc.co.uk/how-to-check-tyre-tread

    Thanks Unipart :)

Every month, day infact should be tyre safety!

You can see it now.. Person gets pulled up by Police in September for bald tyres.. "but Officer, I only need to check them every October.."
