Did Currys sell me a re-furbished laptop?

Hi guys, I got a laptop from Currys on 11th September. Well I ordered it 6 days before but the person at the shop told me I had to order it in because if I bought it in store I would have to pay an extra £30 because they installed the Recovery Disk.
I got the laptop on 11th September and went to register it today (finally got the time) only to be told that the laptop was registered under someone elses name. I couldn't ask much more because I was called away but plan on ringing up tomorrow to see if I can find more information.
Besides from the suspicions that it is a refurbished laptop, it's not that great. When I am online I keep getting random things happening and can't type anything unless I press Ctrl.
(This might be a Windows 8 or Firefox thing though)
When I am scrolling the screen will zoom in and out even though I am not looking it to.
The sound is terribly terrible low.
The first time I put a USB in it, it got stuck in the slot. Took a while before I got it out.
I am just wondering, can I return this for a full refund, especially if its a preowned laptop when I paid full price for it.

Nope definitley from the new section and paid £379 for it. I used Click and Collect and the fellow ordered it in for me at the store which kind of defeated the purpose of Click and Collect.0 -

I would think that if it is a pre-owned laptop that has been sold as new then, yes, you'd be able to reject it for a refund.
The other items, I'd very much doubt they would accept it back on those counts, unless you could demonstrate some sort of repeatable fault.0 -

Like I said I want to double check tomorrow. I'll ask another worker on Acer if it's definitely not my name registered.0 -

Was the seal on the box broken when you got it? It's very obvious with Acers if it has been.0
