Kitchen design is driving me nuts

Hi,
I've posted a few times about squeezing everything into my kitchen. I'm probably making more issues, but when you're spending a whole big chunk of money you want to get it right.
Last issue hopefully, but in the link below, the 50/50 tall unit to the right slightly overlaps the window. I can't move the units too far to the right as that is where the table will be and there isn't a great deal of room (cm's really do matter in this instance).
So what can I do? Ideally move over 5cm but open to ideas. So here goes.
1) Bigger infill piece to the left of the sink. Might look naff.
2) 150mm wine rack thing to the left of the 50/50 unit. Next to dishwasher
3) Change 600mm sink unit to a 800mm, but this is really pushing the space for the table.
Here is the link.

What does "slightly overlaps the window" mean? In which direction? Is the window to the RHS of the tall cab or behind the sink?

Hi,
so the unit order is
1) corner unit with 630mm
2) baseline sink 600mm
3) baseline door for dishwasher 600mm
4) tall 50/50 unit 600mm
The left edge of the 50/50 unit looks like it touches or overlaps the right edge of the window.
When they did the design I said the 50/50 nerds to be to the right of the window not sitting on it.
There's a link in the first post if it helps.

By calling them nerds you are definitely endearing yourself to them. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

The plan does not always necessarily reflect the actuality to the millimetre/centimeter. The fitter will make adjustment but I guess it will be tight.debtfreeian wrote: »The left edge of the 50/50 unit looks like it touches or overlaps the right edge of the window.
I couldn't make out from that where the window hence my question but that may have been the hour. There's a link in the first post if it helps.

yes it appears my phone prefers nerd to need.
It'll definitely be tight as we have the same config now only with a low unit on the end.
This is Howdens glendevon. Can the wine unit sit next to the dishwasher door? Are they usually fitted flush to the door front or the unit?

stick the wine rack in, and move the 50/50 away from the window, it will block out a load of light being that close.0

Agree with Tony but suggest a 150 or in Howdens, maybe a 200? pull out rather than a dust trap, sorry, wine rack;).
Don't think it is actually over the window, looking at the plan. It may be the cornice showing as being over the window, which would be above it. Or he has put a base end panel next to the dishwasher, which would make sense to support the worktop.
Still agree with Tony that putting tall units directly next to the window will cut out an awful lot of light...sometimes needs must though.0 -
Am i over looking something really simple, make the 600 sink a 700? Oh wait its a Howdens box kitchen, try a local independant who can make more sizes saves having a wine rack or tray space put inHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Oh wait, my quote from the independent was 25% more expensive with CDA appliances (not Bosch that I've gone for) and no magic corner with fitting costs that were £1500 more expensive.
Sometimes you have to make compromises.0
