Virgin 'money transfer' to bank account - how long?

As per the title - got a 0% money transfer on a new card with Virgin to pay off overdraft that's now costing me £20 a month, anyone know how long it takes to show up in your bank account?

Thanks!

  • I did the same thing about a month ago and the transfer only took about a week after I'd been accepted, before I'd even received the card if I remember correctly.

Thank you. I think it was the evening of the 2nd I put in the application so hopefully it'll be soon then. Did you get any confirmation emails? I haven't had any.

  • I logged in recently to my virgin money (the portal if you like).

Did a money transfer in the evening & it appeared in current account the day after next - so 1 full working day.

Had the account a few months now & its great, the website is easy to use, well designed, tells you what rates you have & when they end etc.
  • The initial confirmation of my application email took longer than the 48 hours they said it would, but I think it was still within 3-4 days. I would have thought you would have had that email by now - did you check your spam folder?

I agree the Portal is great, I just hate the uneasiness of not knowing when my first statement is going to come and making sure I don't miss the notification. I'm checking the portal every day just in case!! I have set up the direct debit but until I see my first statement I don't know whether I'll need to make a manual payment first.

I do like to fret a bit unnecessarily!!

At the risk of stating the obvious, why not call and ask them for your statement date?...and do something else with your time. ;)
