Faulty cycle light

I purchased a lezyne rechargeable cycle light approximately 10 months ago. I have probably recharged the light a maximum of about 10 times and used it probably a maximum of about 30-40 times. Unfortunately, it is no longer charging and it appears it may be something to do with the charging connection.
The light cost me about £65 and is still inside the warranty period. I took it into evans only to be told lezyne are refusing to repair or replace the light because the issue doesn't fall within their responsibilities. Evans have offered me money off a light of my choice but I can't help but feel lezyne should be responsible for this.
Any advice welcome.

Has the charging socket/contact been damaged?0

Not sure. I couldn't see any obvious damage but it's just not charging now and the way you connect the USB lead to charge it is a really poor design.0

If the fault is inherent then The Sale of Goods Act says that Evans have to repair replace or refund. However as it is more than 6 months since you it was purchased it will be assumed that its not inherent unless you prove otherwise. You might need to get an independent report showing that the fault is inherent.
The manufacturer have to honour the terms of the warranty but what they offer is above and beyond your statutory rights so can set the terms and conditions pretty much as they see fit.
Obviously if it stopped working because of accidental damage or misuse then it won't be covered by The Sale of Goods Act or the warranty.0 -
Would an induction charging mat, that charges wirelessly perhaps be an option? There's loads on ebay0

Ummm ok.
I'll be doing a YouTube review on lezyne lights I think in the future.
