Best place to sell Jewellery Voucher?

Hi all,
I work away from home alot and tend to carry quite a few expensive items with me for which all were insured, unfortunately i recently had an incident where i misplaced some items and have had to go through insurance.
The most annoying thing for me other than losing a couple of precious presents is the fact that the insurance company are now advising me that they will only replace said items with a jewellery voucher to the estimated value of the goods. When taking the insurance out I explained my situation and the fact im out the country for approx 11 months of the year and needed confidence i would be able to repurchase items or similar items (never going to be able to replace sentimental value sadly) anywhere in the world rather than have to mess about i was advised this wouldnt be an issue etc.
So after several weeks of long distance expensive calls I've finally given up fighting the fact i was miss-sold the policy and fact id been miss informed by their operatives and have had to accept the voucher which in reality is no use to me and have had to get it sent to my parents house.
With that being the case where is the best place to try and sell this voucher, its value is just over £5k and ideally i dont want to lose too much as anything i recoup will go towards the repurchases to replace items ive lost.
How safe / reliable is ebay for things like this?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, im still raging that i didnt read the finer print within the policy when taking it ou.
Thanks in advance

I personally would not risk somewhere like ebay as with all the paypal issues I think you would be asking for trouble.
I'd probably try a venue like Gumtree or even local small ads where you can insist on cash on collection.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No costs at all for Gumtree as a private seller, just watch the scammers though. ONLY accept cash on collection.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. What exactly does the voucher state that it can be used to purchase and where can it be used?
If there are no exemptions except that it must be used in a jewellery store, then one option would be to find somewhere that buys scrap and unwanted gold and see if they have any gold bullion coins or bars that you could buy from them.
If you find a reasonable jewellers, you should be able to get these for only a few % above the daily spot price.
Then once you have them, see about selling to one of the decent gold buyers. Again, provided that you do a bit of investigation, you should be able to get a reasonable price for reselling.0
