Barclaycard: Reducing interest rates - any success?

Has anyone successfully managed to reduce their interest rate on a Barclaycard? I just phoned them to ask if they would be prepared to reduce my rate so not to have the hassle of moving balances to another card.

They obviously said no, hence posting on here.

Let me know if you have any success with this.

If they said "no" the first time, what makes you think asking them in a different way will make then suddenly say "yes"?

Not recently, but in the past I have had success complaining about the competitiveness of their APR %.

they'd be more willing to reduce it if you didn't have any balance on the account

I've had it lowered once. Had a 0 balance on it, said i wanted to cancel the card.
Got my apr knocked down by 12%

I managed to get my Visa account down by 8% and my master down 4% recently just by phoning up
