My uncle and his new wife decided to get married without telling anybody, we are not a particularly close family but this still hurt us all. It wasn't the fact that he didn't want us there, but the fact that he didn't tell us. Just a text on the morning to say 'we're in love, we're happy and we've decided to get married! We don't want any fuss so we're doing on our own today' would have been nice...that way we could have sent our good wishes to them. Now it's almost like he couldn't be bothered telling us he was getting married so why should we bother with him.....

Oh I don't think you're having a go.. I know our family will be upset, but it's what OH and I want to do, and it's 'our' day.

We will be having a celebration after at some point, for everyone to be involved in.

But, to be honest, I'm already bored or researching! I think we really can't afford Vegas, which is a shame!

Just waiting for a quote for a week in Malta including wedding. Hopefully it's not too unreasonable and we can start looking to book!

Yess. wedding has been found! 1 week in malta + wedding, all inclusive, next May. Just need to get the money together now!

We're going through Thomson holidays, they're sorting all out for us! staying here and having the wedding here too

haha I don't know If he will! We've decided we are getting married in May, and he likes the place and we'll be putting down a deposit for it next month, so maybe he won't actually ask me!
