3 days with Santander... locked out of internet banking!

I've recently moved everything over from TSB to Santander as a Graduate. The switch is due to be completed tomorrow and I was advised to start using the card as soon as it arrived which I have done. I then attempted tonight to pay a credit card payment for £50 from the Santander account - from a payment set up on the TSB account which was transfered over as part of the switch, meaning they'd know its a payment I've made before..... and they've blocked my account?
Is it just their security systems being really sensitive or could it be something unrelated? They are closed until tomorrow morning so I need to wait until then to get it all resolved.
Good to see they've taken a precaution, but hope it's not like this every time I go to make a payment

If the switch isn't completed doesn't it make sense before making a payment from that account that you wait for the switch to be completed?#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Is your whole account blocked (i.e. you can't access internet banking, use an ATM, etc) or just that payment hasn't gone through yet?
If the latter, just wait 12-18 hours and it will sort itself out. Whilst you have made payments to that credit card before, Santander haven't. As it's new (to them), they make additional security checks.
Unless they are for vastly differing amounts, future payments should generally go straight through.0 -

I get a message that for security reasons my access to internet banking has been blocked.Currently in a Protected Trust Deed - 23 payments until DEBT FREE - February 20270 -
They are just over-sensitive.
They will also often randomly hold up Faster Payments so they are not sent instantly but by end of the next day.
IMHO more than other banks. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
